The numbers just don't add up
Was watching the news over the last few days, and am shocked about what is happening around the world of politics. In Taiwan there was a protest with about a million people all protesting China and what China has said it will do if they, the people of Taiwan try to act as an independant nation.
In Kyrgyzstan the people have protested for over a week about what their government has done and the people are pissed off about it, to the point where the people have forced the government to call an election.
These examples force me to think about why we can't do that here in Canada, oh wait, we just had an election and the idiots from the east elected the same government that we had before the election call, you know the government with all the crooks, the government that is oblivious to the wants of the people, all of the people, not just their friends from Ontario and Quebec.
We just had a provincial election here in Alberta, and while out doing the door to door thing I had the opportunity to speak to a lot of people, and a fair number of these seemingly intelligent people, still support the Liberal party. I just don't understand it!!!
Another thing in the news that caught my attention was the rally on Parliment hill in Ottawa. You know the one with the Lebanese-Canadians protesting the death of some Lebanese politician, and the biggest shock to me was that our past Prime Minister Jean Chretien was there to give his support. Citing that this politician was a friend.
Well a few things here people, are these protesters Canadian or are they Lebanese? In my world I don't like hyphenated Canadians, never have never will. Either you are a Canadian and proud of it or you are not. There must be some reason that you came to Canada, and did not stay in your homeland.
Another thing that sorta got my goat was the fact that one of our past Prime Ministers was there to lend his support, legitimizing this protest, from where I am sitting. I don't see any politician out for the funerals of Canadian citizens, are our own citizens not important to our government?
Oh wait I already know the answer to that, and for that matter so do you.
C'mon Albertans, rise up and start protesting our government, or at the very least get involved with the Separation Party of Alberta!!!!!
Together we can forge ahead and make changes.
